Migrant Worker Law
Migrant Workers have become an important source of labour for the agricultural community in the Niagara Region. Being from other countries, with a precarious immigration status, migrant workers are vulnerable. Often forgotten and subject to exploitation, we advise migrant workers on issues relating to employment law, human rights and immigration. We also help workers who have issues with Canada Revenue Services and Canadian Pension Plan. We are able to advise workers in Spanish, English and French.
The Niagara Community Legal Clinic also attends events held in support of migrant workers. We provided seminars on worker’s rights at the annual Migrant Worker Festival and participate in other activities for the workers.
