How We Can Help

We provide free legal services to low-income residents of the Niagara region. Our services are offered at no cost to clients who qualify financially.

Clinic Services

The areas of law practised by the Clinic are determined and reviewed annually by the Clinic’s Board of Directors according to the identified needs of each community served.

If we can’t help you, we will try to refer you to someone who can. For help with other areas of law, see our section on legal information.

Types of Services

Representation

We provide lawyers to represent you before government boards and tribunals in the areas of law practiced by the clinic if you are a low-income resident of the Niagara region.

Summary Legal Advice

We give free legal advice on the telephone, by appointment or on a walk-in basis in the areas of law listed above. There are no financial eligibility restrictions when asking for summary advice.

Referrals

We don’t practise in all areas of law. If we are unable to help you, we may be able to refer you to someone who can.

We can’t help you with criminal, family, civil, provincial offences, real estate or immigration law. We do not issue legal aid certificates.

If you need help with a criminal or a family law matter, then please call Legal Aid Ontario at 1-800-668-8258 Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST) for help and/or visit https://www.legalaid.on.ca.
